Ways YOU can get involved and drive us to success…
1. Sign on as a PHAME Tour Community Champion
Job description:
Our Tour Community Champions lead the way in outreach and engagement with target communities along “PHAME: the H is for Honored Tour.”
*This is predominantly a pre-Tour volunteer position
Target communities:
- St. Johns (North Portland)
- East Portland
- Estacada
- Vancouver, WA
- Hillsboro
- Southeast Portland
Responsibilities:
a. Utilize community connections to evangelize for PHAME and our inspiring student artists and performers featured on the Tour
b. Help coordinate marketing, media and social media outreach in their target community, and lead grassroots engagement efforts (letters to editor; email lists; phone trees; personal invitations; outreach to public officials; etc)
c. Coordinate efforts with Executive Director and other Community Champions in regular conference calls and/or group emails
d. Manage their respective “street team” community outreach efforts, including flyer-ing and poster-ing local business districts, neighborhoods and community sites, etc (see “Tour street team” description, below)

2. Sign on as a PHAME Tour Cruise Director
Job description:
Our Tour Site Cruise Directors ensure that PHAME students, staff and volunteers are welcomed warmly by our host sites and communities, and that hospitality, food/drink and the “fun” aspect of the Tour comes vibrantly to life.
Target communities:
- St. Johns Community Center (St. Johns, North Portland)
- East Portland Community Center (East Portland)
- Estacada High School/Auditorium (Estacada)
- Clark College (Vancouver, WA)
- Hillsboro site TBA (Hillsboro)
- Clackamas County senior centers (Portland section of Clackamas County)
Responsibilities:
a. Take the lead on coordinating any food/drink/hospitality needs PHAME students, staff and volunteers may have at designated Tour Site, including helping to procure food/drink/hospitality donations
b. With support from other on-site supporters (see below), act as welcome wagon to Tour Sites, providing fun and friendly community welcome to PHAME students, staff and volunteers
c. Where appropriate, help plan and execute social activities for PHAME students, staff or volunteers before, between or after Tour performances
d. Recruit and manage on-site Supporters before, during and after Tour site showcase performance, ensuring excellent experience for Tour performance audiences

3. Join a PHAME Tour “street team”
Job description:
Our PHAME Tour street team members are pounding the pavement – both on the street and online – to engage with the communities this Tour is visiting.
Target communities:
- St. Johns (North Portland)
- East Portland
- Estacada
- Vancouver, WA
- Hillsboro
- Southeast Portland
Responsibilities:
a. Coordinate engagement and outreach efforts with Community Champion, and engage tour communities through targeted email, social media and person-to-person campaigns
b. Engage with schools on outreach efforts – from elementary, middle and high schools through colleges and universities
c. Flyer-ing and poster-ing local business districts, neighborhoods and community sites with community-specific materials and pitches

4. Volunteer as an Honored Roadie
Job description:
Ensure that students are supported, comfortable, safe, on time and on task, and provide support to tour staff and other volunteers
Target communities:
- All tour stops, all days (Honored Roadies will be asked to make a commitment of at least one full day on the tour)
Responsibilities:
a. Chaperone PHAME students involved on the Tour – helping students embark and disembark from buses, ensuring students have a successful and fun time on the Tour
b. Time management: ensuring students arrive to Tour rehearsals and performances in a timely manner, and helping with Tour venue set-up as needed by staff
c. Providing support to staff, to assist them in achieving tour goals and ensuring an overall enjoyable and successful Tour experience

5. Join the fun as an On-Site Supporter
Job description:
Be part of the action as a key volunteer at one of our “PHAME: the H is for Honored Tour” sites.
Target communities:
- All tour stops, all days (On-Site Supporters will be asked to make a commitment of at least one stop on the tour)
Responsibilities:
a. Responsible for set-up and tear down of space, provides support to PHAME staff and volunteers with load-in and load-out
b. Hand out programs and welcome audience members to the Tour site
c. Support efforts of Cruise Directors in ensuring fun, friendly and social welcome and experience for PHAME (for those sites that have designated Cruise Directors)

6. Help us end the day with a smile as a Trimet Lift Supporter
Job description:
Welcome students back at the end of the Tour day, be on the lookout for and help coordinate Trimet Lift pick-ups
Target communities:
- All tour stops, all days (Trimet Lift Supporters will be asked to make a commitment of at least one stop on the tour)
Responsibilities:
a. Greet students, staff and volunteers as they return from long Tour days
b. Record Trimet Lift issues, and report them to Artistic Director and/or other staff; interface with Trimet Lift drivers as necessary, to ensure successful transition from end of Tour days to Trimet Lift rides home for PHAME students who utilize this service
